NACA ROUND 4: Pekina/Carrieton secures narrow win

Pekina/Carrieton travelled to the Booleroo Centre Oval on Saturday but it was the home side that won the toss and elected to bat.

Damian Smith and Colby Peacock opened the batting and after making eight runs, Peacock was caught by Ashby Thomas.

Smith went on to make 49 before he was run out and a fill-in bolstered the side’s total with a knock of 85 before he was caught by Kieran Blackwell.

Captain Joel Durnford was out for a duck, caught by Ashby Thomas and another fill-in was out LBW for two.

Kaden Groves was run out for a duck, the last wicket to fall in Booleroo Willowie’s innings with Matthew Hanisch not out for 42 and Rory Kumnick not out on one.

The side reached a total of 203 after its 40 overs.

Henry Slade and Kieran Blackwell opened the batting for Pekina/Carrieton.

Blackwell was the first wicket to fall, he made 12 before he was caught by Colby Peacock.

Henry Slade went on to hit a valuable knock of 112 but he was caught by Kaden Groves.

Will Bowman was bowled for five and Paul Pitkin for six.

Josh Hilder made 21 before he was caught by Liam Fetherstonhaugh and Jack Clark was bowled by Dion Foulis for three.

Ashby Thomas was run out for two and Brock Thomas was caught for none but Denis Redden and Angus Stone carried the home in 39.1 overs.

Redden was unbeaten on 28 and Stone not out on 12.

Belalie Mannanarie vs Burra

Burra travelled to Victoria Park at Jamestown on the weekend where the home side won the toss and went out to bat.

The side was all out in 28 overs, recording a total of 112 for Burra to chase.

With the loss of just one wicket Burra secured victory in 25 overs. It is the fourth consecutive win for Burra from as many games.

Wilmington/Melrose vs Bundaleer Rangers

Bundaleer Rangers forfeited.
