Gabrielle
Hall

A born and bred Mid North girl, Gabrielle has worked in rural and regional media and public relations for more than 25 years. Having completed a journalism degree, she cut her teeth in her dream job as an agricultural journalist at the Stock Journal, then undertook a short stint as rural reporter with the ABC in Port Pirie before deciding print media was truly her passion. She ventured into the world of public relations with the Education Department, working in the PR unit, chief executive and Minister’s office, before country life once again beckoned her. She has lived in Clare for 20 years, working in freelance journalism and photography and joined the Plains Producer in 2016, expanding into the paper’s Valley Magazine/Flinders Magazine mastheads alongside the weekly newspaper. Gabrielle is passionate about telling the stories of rural and regional Australia and by far her favourite work days are the ones that take her back into a paddock or saleyard to get her boots dirty, have a yarn and the privilege of writing someone’s story. In her spare time you will see her on the sidelines of the local footy or cricket with a camera around her neck, cheering on her three boys or spending time with them along with husband Nic out bush or on the river.
